Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper alloy double loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops with flat backs and bevelled outer and inner edges. Both loops have three transverse grooves in the centre of the outer side, a straight groove flanked by diagonal grooves in a chevron. The strap bar is narrowed; the pin is missing. The frame is 36.3mm long, 33.4mm wide and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 6.22 grams.
A similar example is illustrated in Margerson (1993:30, no.171) from a 17th century context although it is likely similar simple forms were in use by c.1350 (Egan and Pritchard 1993:22, 82-6, cf no.331 and 349).
