Copper alloy buckle fragment, as identified by finder. Oval-ended plate formerly attached to a strap of 3.4mm thickness, wrapped around the pin bar of a double looped or spectacle buckle with low knops at either end of the pin bar. A pair of rivets of diameter 2.5mm fastened plate to strap. A bent pin protrudes from the slot in the plate. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1550-1650.
