Postmedieval cast copper alloy buckle. The frame is sub-rectangular in plan with rounded edges. The pin is now missing. Buckles of this type were usually shoe buckles dating c. 1720-1790s AD. A similar, but larger, buckle can be seen in 'Buckles 1250 - 1800' by Ross Whitehead No. 667 pg 104. See below for detailed reference.
