A cast copper alloy Anglo-Scandinavian zoomorphic strap end, dating from the 9th to 11th century. The strap end is of Thomas Class A Type 1. The strap end has a panel decorated with the design of a beast which has a pointed tail crouching or sitting with its head turned back over its shoulder. The strap end is slightly bent and does not retain its rivets but is otherwise in good condition.
