A ceramic vessel sherd dating from the medieval period. It is a rim sherd of an unusual vessel which is covered with horizontal grooves, almost fluted but horizontal. The rim is very flat and only slightly wider than the wall. The piece could also be interpreted as the bottom of a domed lid or similar object, as it stands happily on the complete edge. The fabric is fairly hard with a laminated structure. It is grey in the core, and tan to orange on the surfaces. It is vesicular with angular and varied inclusions of many colours and some mica.
