FINGER RING

A fragment of a silver finger ring which is almost completely flattened. Both ends are broken and are uneven. It is plain on the inside with incised decoration on the outside. This consists of a line at the top and the bottom, with a floral/vegetal motif in the centre. It could be that the rest of the ring would have had an inscription on but this is now missing.

Date: Late Medieval- Post Medieval- c.1400- 1600 AD Dimensions: Length 16.98mm. Width 6.01mm Weighing 0.6g . The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
