Postmedieval cast copper alloy buckle. The frame is sub-rectangular in plan with rounded edges. The frame has four moulded horizontal lines on the top and bottom, and moulded circlets on both edges for decoration. The pin is now missing. Buckles of this type were usually shoe buckles dating c. 1720-1790s AD. A similar, but larger, buckle can be seen in 'Buckles 1250 - 1800' by Ross Whitehead No. 667 pg 104.
