A Medieval (1200-1400) copper alloy bar mount from a belt with central and terminal lobes, measuring 16.84x8.96x3.92mm and weighing 1.02g.
The two terminal lobes are solid, each with a separate copper alloy rivet (in situ) and 2.8mm thick. The central lobe is hollow to the reverse and domed to the front, with a band of decoration 3.8mm wide. The decoration comprises four horizontal grooves.
Similarly decorated bar mounts with central and terminal lobes from London date to the 13th and 14th century (Egan & Pritchard 1991 nos.1154-1162).
