A cast, copper alloy D-shaped buckle with narrowed and offset strap bar, Meols type 2, dating from 1250-1350AD. The pin is missing. The buckle displays a patchy, light green patina. It is 17.6mm long, 13.8mm wide and 3.1mm thick. It weighs 1.95gm.A similar buckle is illustrated in Griffiths, Philpott & Egan, Meols: The Archaeology of the North Wirral Coast, plate 14, number 486.
