A Medieval, cast copper-alloy pin from a disc-on-pin buckle. Redmayne Type D.
The pin is in the form of an open ring rather than the usual decorated disc. It has a complete hook at one end which would have wrapped around the buckle frame, the central part is a ring decorated with punched dots around the circumference of its front face, then it has a small pointed extension which would have touched the other side of the frame. There are traces of gilding left on the entire pin, back and front.
