A copper-alloy frame from a Medieval (probably 13th-14h century) single-loop buckle.
The frame is trapezoidal, the width increasing towards the vertical outer side. This side is of unusual form, being much wider than the rest of the frame, having an angled underside and a broad vertical groove on its outer face. The two horizontal sides are of rectangular section, the axis bar is of flattened-oval section. The pin and plate are missing and the buckle's surfaces are corroded. It measures 18.2mm long, 24.4mm wide and up to 5.1mm thick (outer side). The weight is 3.99g.
