Anglo-Saxon silver sceatta, type identified as the "Aston Rowant" (Oxon) type in D M Metcalf: Thrysmas and Sceattas in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford Vol. 1 (1993) nos 143-5: cf Series Z: Long-legged hound, as type 66, but in very crude 'match-stick' style, and with triple-tipped tail held over back / Cross-crosslet pattern, with many pellets, very crude and irregular. The coin is in good condition, is 12mm in diameter and weighs 1.06g.

Die-duplicate with EMC 1986.0047 (from the 'near Royston' productive site in Herfordshire).
