A cast, copper alloy thimble, probably of late post medieval date, 1700-1800AD. The punch holes on the side are very small, round and arranged in concentric circles. Those on the crown of the thimble are larger, square, and arranged in a grid pattern There is a narrow, projecting rim around the base, separated from the body by a broad, incised groove. There is a small piece missing from the rim and a small piercing just above it. The thimble has a light green patina. It is 18.3mm in diameter and 20mm high. It weighs 5.27gm.
