A complete Medieval copper-alloy gilded suspension bar mount for a harness pendant (1200-1400).
The mount has a long horizontal cross bar, sub-triangular in cross-section. At the front it has a transverse ridge with a lobe containing a circular perforation for a rivet at each end. These terminate with an elongated knop. At the centre of the bar, on the underside, are two pierced parallel lugs for an axis bar. The rear face is largely flat.
This object has no patina and is mainly covered with light green copper-alloy corrosion deposits. Traces of gilding can be seen on the underside of the bar at the front.
