A copper-alloy hooked mount of post-Medieval date.
The horizontal top side has a central depression, while the long sides converge towards the base, where there is the remnant of a backward-facing hook. The upper surface is convex, the underside slightly concave. There are two rivet holes, both located halfway across the mount, the upper one containing the corroded remains of an iron rivet. The object measures 29.6mm long, 12.7mm wide and 2.3mm thick (not including the hook). The weight is 2.6g.
This hooked mount is probably a sword-belt fitting. The suggested date is 17th century.
