A gold link dating to the Roman period, found during controlled archaeological excavation from a Roman context.
The link is made up of a loop of gold wire, which is pressed together at the centre to create a double loop shape. The wire is rectangular in section. The link is best interpreted as a fragment of jewellery, for example a necklace, though other functions cannot be precluded.
