A complete cast copper alloy Roman button and loop fastener (AD 50-150).
Wild type III.
It has a teardrop of petal shaped head with a raised circular dome in the centre of the face. The loop extends straight out from the reverse of the button, then bends up at a right angle. The single strand of the loop splits at the top to create an attachment loop.
An incomplete parallel can be found from South Shields in Allason-Jones & Miket (1984), no. 3.585, pg. 186.
