A heavily patinated flint blade of probable Mesolithic to early Neolithic date.
The blade is roughly rectangular, although there is a slight increase in width towards the distal end. The dorsal surface has an off-centre vertical arise which splits into a 'V-shaped' slope at the distal end. A small portion of the core platform is visible, as is the bulb-of-percussion. At two points along one of the long sides are shallow notches; the lower of these has possibly been created deliberately. The irregular distal end also shows signs of having been deliberately blunted. The tool measures 40.7mm long, 16.4mm wide and 4.3mm thick. The weight is 3.3g.
