An incomplete cast copper-alloy post-medieval convex mount, probably a harness mount. The mount is quatrefoil in design consisting of a central boss with protruding spokes with an openwork design. The boss is square in shape; from each side radiates a spoke connecting the boss to the outer design. The boss is delineated by incised lines. The spokes terminate in fleurs-de-lis that are conjoined; this makes for a heart-shaped openwork. The central element of each lis protrudes in a lobed knop. The radiating spokes and the outer design are trapezoidal in cross section; the lower surface is flat. On the lower surface, central to the boss, was a protruding shank of rectangular cross-section; this is now lost. The mount is dark grey in colour with small patches of underlying reddish metal showing through, and off-white corrosion product on both surfaces.
