A copper alloy book clasp of Howsam type A.1.1, with a hinged plate and loop at the end. The plate is tapering, double-sided and hinged with a separate cast loop attached at the hinged end. The plate has a single, domed rivet at the opposite end for attachment to a strap. The cast loop has an off-centre sub-circular hole and tapers to a narrow projection through which is a smaller circular loop at right angles to the rest of the strap end.
