Large fragment of a ceramic vessel dating from the later medieval period, that is c. AD1400-1600. The sherd weighs 56.83g and measures 93.39 x 58.66 x 5.74mm. It probably came off a yellow- or brown-glazed grey stoneware vessel. The sherd is very sturdy and the edges almost as sharp as glass. It was quartzite tempered, but there are only very few very small inclusions in the fabric. It is likely that it came of a storage jug or jar.
