A cast copper alloy Medieval to Post-Medieval vessel handle fragment, incomplete due to old breaks. It consists of a length of handle, oval to circular in section, attached to the upright rim of a vessel. The handle measures 47.95mm in length, and then turns downwards at right angles for 18mm, and the rest is missing. It is 25.26mm in width where it attaches to the vessel wall, and tapers to14.9mm in width where it turns downwards. The handle meets the vessel at an angle of sixty degrees, and is set above the rim. It weighs 79.56g. An angled handle of similar type but different attachment is illustrated from a vessel of the late fourteenth century from medieval London.(Egan 1998, no.446)
