BROOCH

Unique ID: SUR-D40720

Object type certainty: Possibly
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A copper alloy object, possibly a brooch, but now exhibitng signs of active bronze disease. The object curves and has a wider and a narrower end. None of the original surface survives. Little also can be made of the pits at the wider end and the iron corrosion at the narrower end. A vague Iron Age or Roman date is suggested.
