A bodysherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel.
The sherd is 6.12mm thick and weighs 8.1g. It is 29.67mm long and 34.66mm wide.
The sherd consists of a bodysherd with fine sand and quartz inclusions. The sherd is mostly likely from a local (unsourced) jug fabric type. A cordon is present on the exterior of the sherd, with a wavy (undulating edge). This edge is similar to that known as a 'pie crust' base, found on medieval jugs, dating to between the Mid 12th to Mid 13th Centuries AD. However this sherd does not look like it is from the base of a jug, but more likely, the shoulder of a similar type of vessel.
