A complete solid-cast gold 'keeled' finger-ring with plain nicolo setting. The setting is inlaid within a moulded oval cartouche at the centre of a raised octagonal bezel. The expanded shoulders are heart shaped. On the internal surface of the hoop there are two small vaguely heart-shaped impressions below the shoulders, possibly manufacturer's marks. Discussion: The finger-ring is best categorised as a Henig type VIII - 'keeled' type, and can be compared with 2009 T636. Roman, c. 3rd century AD Dimensions: height 21.5, width 24.1, thickness 15.8, weight 15.88 grams. As the finger-ring contains at least 10% gold and is at least 300 years old, it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. R Webley
