Bezel and part of the hoop from a cast copper alloy finger ring. The bezel bears a cast decoration which is difficult to interpret but may represent an animal, facing left. Four legs can be seen but there is no sign of a head. On the back are four, short, angled lines which could represent bristles. This object may be Roman and the animal can be paralleled on Celtic coins. However, animals like this are also known from Anglo-Saxon sceattas and a later date cannot be excluded, particularly as this find came from an area that produced material of this date.
