16th-18th Century. Lead alloy, cast, small, uniface token. Length 18mm, Width 16.9mm, Thickness 2.0mm, Diameter 18mm, Weight 2.6g. Obverse: Initials 'W' and possible 'C' with smaller symbols or initials 'PV' or the initial 'M' with small symbols or initials above if viewed the other way up. Inscription: 'WC' over 'PV'. These tokens are thought to be for casual farm work tallies or as hop picking tokens. It has a pale grey surface corrosion patina. Ref. Detector Finds, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 1992, page 52-57 No. 15 and Leaden Token & Tallies Roman to Victorian, Edward Fletcher, Greenlight Publishing 2005, page 50-60.
