Gold and enamel finger ring, 18mm in diameter and 5mm wide. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.52grams. The ring is decorated with a band of enamel cells contained within a border. It has alternate lozenge shaped cells with a single raised dot inside and circular cells with a four petal flower motif. These are joined by a central raised band which is flanked by two raised dots either side. Where present the lozenge shaped cell has blue enamel and the lines and dots joining them have green, and there are traces of white enamel in the circular cells. Date: 16th-17th century There is an inscription on the inner surface which reads 'BE + FAVTHFVLE' with a flower like motif at the end. As the object is made of gold and is over 300 years old, it constitutes potential Treasure under the stipulations of The Treasure Act 1996. Wendy Scott
