A double looped, trapezoidal buckle frame made of copper alloy, dating from the 17th century and similar to Whitehead 2003, no.516, p83. It is 48.5mm long , 26.1mm wide and 2.9mm thick. Weight 8.05gm. The loops are symmetrical and pentagonal with the outer ends sharply pointed. There are lobed knops at either end of the strap bar, which shows wear in the centre (from the missing pin); the knops and the strap bar are separated by V-shaped incised grooves. The front of the frame is bevelled. There is a well developed even, dark brown patina.
