A possible cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl. In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is sub semi-circular. There is a central circular perforation which is 9.2mm diameter. The upper surface of the spindle whorl is undecorated. The base is flat and also undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is oxidised and therefore is a cream colour. It measures 25.15mm diameter and stands 12.1mm tall. It weighs 33.4g.
It is difficult to date lead spindle whorls, but anywhere between the Roman and Medieval period.
