A possibly lead pencil, which is 47.5mm long and 7mm in diameter. The object is in fair condition with a creamy patina and weighs 15.15 grams. The object consists of a circular shaft which is slightly rounded at one end and at the other has a rounded wide point (like a wedge) formed by two tapering flat surfaces. There are many similar objects on the PAS database, but a Roman date cannot be certain as similar tools were used in later periods too. Compare LEIC-271F31, DEV-973C97, KENT-5271F2, SUSS-0085B3 and LEIC-4F8FE5 among others.
