Roman copper alloy hinged Aucissa brooch, 23mm long, 16mm wide and 9mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 3.89grams. The brooch has circular sectioned hollow wings which have stepped linear decoration. The bow emerges from the centre of the head and is sub rectangular in section with a rounded ridge running its length. It has a spherical knop terminal and a triangular catchplate.
