An incomplete copper-alloy Hod Hill type brooch of Early Roman date.
The head of the brooch has been lost in antiquity. The upper bow is rectangular in plan, its upper surface decorated by a longitudinal central ridge flanked by two concave bands. A right-angled lug projects from each of the two bottom corners of this upper bow. The lower bow/foot is of flat section, with concave sides which converge towards the globular footknob. On the underside of this lower bow is the incomplete catchplate.
It measures 43.1mm long by 23.1mm wide and weighs 4.63 grams.
