A silver Roman finger-ring of a 'keeled type' (Henig type VIII), without a setting and seemingly plain (c. 3rd century AD). The flat oval bezel is plain but scratched (12.75 by 13.25 by 2.0mm). The shoulders are angled outwards at c. 120 degrees; one extends further than the other. They narrow from below the bezel (W.: c. 9mm) quickly to c. 6mm, reaching c. 5mm at the angle. They then curve inwards, narrowing to 2.9mm at the base of the hoop. The exterior of the shoulders is decorated with two pairs of incised lines that converge towards the angles. The internal surface is flat; at the base the hoop has a D-shaped cross-section. The ring has the following internal dimensions: 18.0 by 16.9mm. As well as the scratching mentioned there is further scratching around the ring and some pitting, with a turquoisy corrosion product from base metal impurities showing through in patches.
