WEIGHT

Unique ID: NCL-8659A1

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A cast copper-alloy trade weight of the Post-Medieval period, probably 17th century.

The weight is discoidal with a raised outer edge and two incised bands in the middle, with a small incised dot in the centre. There are punched standar marks, but corrosion and damage has inhibited identification. Pressure from the underside has pushed a portion of the weight upward, also adding stress fractures.
