Cast copper alloy Early Medieval polyhedral pin, dating to the 8-9th centuries.
The pin head has four main faces, each with a ring-and-dot motif on. They are all facetted at the corners giving the head the polyhedral effect. There is a small moulded collar between the head and the shaft. The shaft is sub-circular in cross-section and is corroded and worn along its length although originally it would have tapered towards the end. The shaft is broken before the end.
