A complete cast copper alloy Post Medieval toy cannon.
The cannon is circular in profile, slightly wider at the terminal end. there is a small globular knop protruding from the terminal. There is a small circular hole at one end, possibly where a cannon would have been lit. there are 4 concentric circles around the main barrel of the cannon. The diameter of the cannon widens towards the muzzle. there are two trunnions which protrude from the center of the barrel, and would have been where the cannon would have rested on a carriage. The toy is in good condition. This cannon is likely to date to the 18th century. A similar cannon can be seen on the database ESS-2B2132.
