A cast copper-alloy post-medieval mount, possibly a harness mount. The mount is sexfoil in design consisting of a central boss with protruding radial curves with an openwork design. The boss has a diameter of 12.4mm, is hexagonal in shape; from each side radiates a spoke connecting the boss to the outer design. The radial curves are interconnected with crude trefoils between which have a sharp central point. The cusp of each radial curve has a protruding knop running parallel to a semicircular protrusion within the openwork design that is delineated from the trefoils by a linear incision. The radiating spokes and the outer design are trapezoidal in cross section; the lower surface is flat. The mount is convex. Central to the boss is a protruding shank on the lower surface; there is evidence of a brown corrosion product at the base of the shank where it connects to the mount. The shank has been bent to one side and the mount bent downwards at one point at its circumference. The mount has varied patina, usually dark red-brown with large patches of green corrosion on a number of spokes and the outer design which is also visible on the reverse.
