A cast copper-alloy shoe buckle of post-medieval date, from circa 1660 to 1720 AD. The buckle is double looped and sub-trapezoidal in shape with a drilled frame for a separate iron spindle. The frame has moulded bifid sides and incised lines at either end. A copper-alloy chape is still attached though this is broken at one end. The triangular copper-alloy pin survives. The buckle measures 21.4 mm long, 14.8 mm wide, 5.5 mm thick and weighs 2.7 grams.
