A composite, copper alloy strap end consisting of two cast plates with a central spacer, dating from1350-1400AD. It has a straight attachment end and tapers slightly to a pointed terminal with a small rounded knop. There is no decoration. There are two copper alloy fastening rivets, one in the centre of the attachment end and another immediately behind the knop at the terminal end. Both remain in place. The strap end has a dark green patina. It is 27.1mm long, 11mm wide and 3.1mm thick. It weighs 3.5gm. Reference: The Museum of London, Dress Accessories, page 147, number 696.
