A copper alloy composite strap end consisting of two cast plates with a central spacer, dating from1350-1400AD. It has a biconcave attachment end and tapers slightly to a pointed terminal with a small pointed knop. There is no decoration. There are two copper alloy fastening rivets, one at the attachment end between the indentations and another immediately behind the knop at the terminal end. both remain in place. The strap end has a dark green patina. It is 30mm long, 12.5mm wide and 3.1mm thick. It weighs 4.94gm. Reference: The Museum of London, Dress Accessories, page 143, number 660.
