Two fragments of a sheet copper alloy scabbard chape probably dating from 1300 -1600AD. It is probably from a dagger rather than a sword. The chape is triangular with one straight and one curved side, liek the end of a knife. It was made by folding a piece of sheet metal which has now broken along the bend and the seam, leaving two fragments. There does not appear to be any decoration. Part of the tip of one face is missing, and the top is probably broken too. The two fragments fit together and measure 27.2mm long, 18mm wide and 3.7mm thick. They weigh 1.61gm.
