Medieval copper alloy barrel tap part with fleur de lis style moulded handle measuring 34mm in width. Below the handle, there are three consecutive mouldings around the circumference of the shaft. The shaft, circular in horizontal section, tapers to 12mm diameter at the bottom. The item measures 75mm in length. The hole in the shaft served as the aperture through which liquid flowed into the tap's spout.Tap handles in the form of fleurs-de-lis are thought by Margeson (1993, 138) to be medieval in date.
