A circular, cast lead alloy button with integral fastening loop, probably dating from 1600-1700AD. The upper surface is domed. It is decorated with a flower design consisting of a central dot, surrounded by a raised ring with five further ring and dot motifs forming the petals. Around the rim are four further dots surrounded by raised semi-circles, each one within an angle formed by the flower petals. Between each of these semi-circles are three short, raised, vertical lines. The underside is flat and is divided by a casting line. The fastening loop remains in place, but is bent. There is a small hole in the reverse, but this is probably a casting flaw. It is 14.5mm in diameter and 9mm thick. It weighs 6.97gm.
