A cast copper alloy one-piece single sharp hooked clasp. The clasp is sub-circular with moulded relief and openwork. A chequered lozenge ( interpreted as a pineapple, thistle or, most likely, a pinecone) sits within an engraved edge. There are 4 perforations either side of the lozenge. A ridged collar sits at the juncture of the plate and hook. The hook is slightly bent out of shape.

The clasp belongs to Read's Class E, Type 3 as shown in Read, B. (2008) Hooked Clasps and Eyes, No 402, page 104.
