Roman?? copper alloy head, 24mm long, 18mm wide and 17mm thick. The object is in good condition and weighs 23.24grams. The object is in the form of a bearded head with large oval shaped ears, almond eyes and prominent nose. It sits on an oval 'plate' which is placed at a slight diagonal angle and the neck sits within a V shaped incision, suggestive of clothing? The head has a small protrusion which may be the base of a suspension loop?
It is difficult to date but its form perhaps suggests it may be a suspended weight, possibly of Roman date?
Another possibility is an anthropomorphic handle, but the angle seems wrong for that?
