Incomplete strap-mounted terret dating to the late Iron age to early Roman period. The terret consists of two loops with a rectangular plate between. The smaller rectangular loop is the attachment side, while the circular loop with the knop is the reign guide. The circular loop would probably have had three knops as often seen on this type of terret. The terret has a green patina which has become waterworn, which suggests it was not always in a riverine environment.
Dimensions: diameter 33 mm, attachment loop length 26.1 mm., attachment loop width 10 mm. protective plate 14.1 x 29.2 mm, thickness 4.9 mm, weight 15 g.
