Unique ID: LVPL2339

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Cast copper alloy medieval seal matrix. Circular, hexagonal conical handle with loop at the top. In the centre is a squirrel within a circle. What remains of the Lombardic legend reads ]NOTIS. The full legend would have read 'I CRAKE NOTIS' (I crack nuts), a recorded non-personal seal inscription. The squirrel is crisp but some of the legend is damaged.

Inscription: [I CRAKE ]NOTIS
