A possible cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl. In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is sub semi-circular. There is a central circular perforation which is 9.01mm diameter. The upper surface of the spindle whorl is undecorated. The base is flat and also undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is oxidised and therefore is a cream colour. It measures 23.26mm diameter and stands 13.7mm tall. It weighs 31.6g.
It is difficult to date lead spindle whorls, but anywhere between the Roman and Medieval period.
