An incomplete silver Roman finger ring. Part of the bezel, one shoulder and part of the hoop now survive. The bezel is rectangular and the shoulder is angular and tapers into the narrower hoop, which has a D-shaped section. Dimensions: 15.4mm in length, 10.6mm in maximum width. Discussion: This finger ring is possibly of Henig's type VIII (M. Henig, A Corpus of Roman Engraved Gemstones from the British Isles (BAR 8), Oxford 1978), due to its angular shoulders. The precious metal content of this object fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10 %.
